
Julieta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Political Science from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Her expertise is in subnational politics, women's representation, and political parties. She is one of the coordinators of Red de Politólogas #NoSinMujeres and participated in the design of the electoral system that ensured gender parity in the Chilean constitutional process in 2021. She has been a consultant for UNDP, UN Women, and the National Institute of Human Rights in Chile. Latest publications: “Blessing in Disguise? How the Gendered Division of Labor in Political Science Helped Achieved Gender Parity in the Chilean Constitutional Assembly”, Politics & Gender (2023), and “Reconstructing Legitimacy After Crisis: The Chilean Path to a New Constitution”, Hague Journal on the Rule of Law (2021). She is currently the Vice-Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Political Science UC Chile.
