Latin America starred the Third Wave to democracy in the 80s. Since then, it experienced market reforms, turns “to the left”, several political crises, democratic erosions, breakdowns and low quality exercises of democracy. Nevertheless, it can be said it’s a democratic and peaceful region. On this background political science has accumulated large developments on democratic experience that could be useful worldwide.
